There’s more than one way to be a rock star.
Evan Pak is a card-carrying geek (he even has the job to prove it), but when his photographer brother invites him to tag along on a photo shoot with rock star Riley Flood, he figures it will be two days of ogling and eye-rolling and nothing more. But the reckless bad boy is nothing like he expected, and Evan is mesmerized by the mix of cocky and sweet he sees in Riley. When a spontaneous idea ends with Evan stripping down under the hot lights for an intimate portrait for Riley’s next album cover, Evan is absolutely sure their connection won’t end when the lights are turned off. Especially since Riley can’t seem to keep his hands off the tattoos Evan hides under his clothes.
Even a spoiled rock star wants to give up control sometimes, if only for a weekend. The world is full of people who want things from Riley and the demands on him never stop. Evan knows exactly how to turn off the noise in Riley’s head and it starts by putting him on his knees.
Together, they will push each other higher and farther than either one of them have ever gone before. It’s easy to take risks when there’s a time limit on the game. But when their time is up, what comes next if they don’t want the game to end?

When Evan helps his brother out on a photo shoot, he has no idea that he's going to end up in front of the camera himself. He certainly doesn't expect to end up naked and up close and personal with rock star Riley Flood.Evan is a sweet hero, a nerd helping his brother out, then coming face to face with sexy Riley who turns out to be much different to the arrogant rock star Evan expects. Instead Riley shows him an unexpected vulnerability and honesty, and there's an adorable awkwardness between the two. Despite Riley being a rock star, there are sweet, almost innocent touches to this romance, like them getting embarrassed around each other, and I really enjoyed that realness.
The story is divided into three parts: the sexy meet-cute photo shoot, Evan and Riley's hotel romance, and Evan's return to reality. The divisions are more noticeable than they would be in another story, due to a sudden shift to present tense (from past) for the second part.
The photo shoot is all sexiness and fun anticipation. It's sexual tension to the extreme, with no relief in sight, and I loved it. The hotel fun times is when things get down and dirty. Though, for me, the incredible anticipation of the photo shoot was actually hotter than any fulfillment of Evan and Riley's desires in the second part, the hotel scenes provide us with the chance to get to know Riley.
Evan and Riley connect with each other quickly, but they don't necessarily understand each other to start with. There's also a looming uncertainty between them as Riley is escaping his stresses, but can't escape forever, and Evan doesn't want to get lost in Riley and his rock star life.
Full Exposure is a short romance, but it packs a big emotional punch. It's very sexy, but with a strangely pensive vibe. I'm honestly not convinced the tense shift was the best move, mostly because it was a little distracting, but Amy Jo Cousin's writing is inevitably captivating no matter the tense, and Evan and Riley are just such sexy and adorable heroes. Full Exposure is freeeeee, so go grab yourself a copy!

Full Exposure edition by Amy Jo Cousins Romance eBooks Reviews
This is unlike any other romance I've read -- a statement few authors get out of me.
I expected an engaging, rather light story with fun sex and some emotional steam. What I got was this guy Evan, whose learning curve with the volatile Riley is so visceral and so dependent on Evan's best qualities that I fell half in love with both of them by the end.
Cousins doesn't detail each sex scene but delivers the emotional, brilliantly. Emotion is the heart of any good romance. I've read too many explicit sex scenes that should've been left out, they're so emotionally flat. There has to be a point to including all that physical. It carries emotional weight or it's wasted words. Cousins wastes exactly zero words in Full Exposure; each one carries weight. I didn't know it for a little while as it swept in behind me. By the time I realized, I was already caught up and flying.
For a short novella, there was a lot of story packed into this wonderful, sexy m/m romance. It's set as three sections, where the two meet, the separation, and then their reunification (and interestingly they are told in different tenses, past and present). It's the story of Evan and Riley. Evan's brother Tommy is a photographer who's been asked to do a cover shoot for rock star Riley Flood. Evan's just along to help out, but as the ideas for the cover change, Evan gets convinced to to pose with Riley, and this leads to a short and steamy affair between them. Their quick connection is a weekend affair that ends when they have to go back to their normal lives. I liked how that felt quite realistic, the gradual separation of communication as real life intrudes. Yet neither is able to forget the other and eventually they come together again having realized that they belong together, however they can make it work. It is at times funny and poignant and sweet. 5 stars.
